Very small parcels of fruit from vineyards up to 100 years old are hand-picked, fermented with some whole-bunches and blended to make this traditional Barossan wine. Racked once during maturation of 12 months in larger barrels (some new). Showing all the richness of fruit you would expect from Barossan Shiraz at its best.

"Deep red-purple colour with a fresh bouquet of raspberry, red cherry and mint. Fruitcake and dark chocolate traces, too. It's full bodied and firmly structured, the tannins ensuring it will age well. Lovely flavours of rich fruitcake, plum pudding and chocolate persist. A classic style of Barossa shiraz." 91pts | Huon Hooke | The Real Review

"A seductive, comforting nose of plush dark red fruits sits in harmony with black earth and a fresh waft of field herbs and eucalypt. A splash of Cabernet helps its appeal. Yep, sure seems like Australia to me – and the rich palate is generous without being bulky, underpinned by solid structure, a firm seam of fine-grained tannins and the most gentle oak frame to bind it all through a long, balanced ride." 95pts | David Sly | jamessuckling.com
