Plenty of unapologetic old skoolin' in this wine. Dry red fruits and structure dominant with old wood and long crumbling tannin. My kind of wine.
A blend of 81/19% cabernet sauvignon/shiraz. Matured in French oak, none of it new, for 12 months. Intensity of flavour is very good, but it's the tannin and the associated length that really sets it apart. Blue, black and red-berried fruits, pencil shavings, gum leaf and cocoa notes push persuasively through the palate, rolls of tannin then pressing from the back palate on.
