Nashdale Lane, a brand new producer for GSW. has been for a number of years quietly producing wines of an unbelievable standard. Located at 900m above sea level in the shadow of Mt Canobolas Nashdale Lane is without a doubt one of Orange’s vinous gems.
Devoted to sustainability the vineyard management is spearheaded by Nick Segger one of the founders of the brand. The Segger name is synonymous with organics in the UK as Nick’s father and uncle, through a multitude of organisations work to lift the standard across the industry. Nick takes a unique approach to the site, not subscribing to any particular ethos instead creating a symbiotic environment where cover crops feed nutrients to the soil and sheep / alpacas freely graze to minimise tractor use. Water retention is crucial and Nick has managed to dry farm the vineyard in the vast majority of vintages.
