Lark Hill Gruner Veltliner 2022

Is this Australia's most consistently highest pointed Gruner? If not must be close.

This wine is however the first commercial planting in Australia, 14 years ago, with cuttings sourced from a private collection in Tasmania. The wine is now in its 11th vintage.

Lark Hill is one of very few Australian wineries to be certified both organic and biodynamic. At 860m is also one of the country's highest and coldest vineyard sites.

"The first grüner veltliner planted in Australia, and, as such, the first of many. It has a touch of varietal white pepper and a counterbalance of elegantly rounded stone fruit. Also an early mover in using biodynamic principles." 94pts | James Halliday | Halliday Wine Companion
