Small batch wines made from parcels of fruit sourced sites of interest in Tasmania, with a focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noirfrom the Derwent Valley. The winery is located on the outskirts of Hobart in the industrial hub of Goodwood. A repurposed meat processing facility now home to three wine producers working communally. Some barrels, a few tanks, a basket press and a forklift. Winemaking here is honest and rustic.
Thomas New's path to creating Future Perfect was unconventional. After working for various operations across Australia (including the Granite Belt, Margaret River, and other Tasmanian producers) and Austria, he concluded that Tasmania was the ideal place for his winemaking approach.
Fruit Source- Kinvarra, Plenty, Upper Derwent Valley. Sixth year working with Chardonnay from this site. A pure and crystaline expression of Chardonnay thanks to Tasmania's cool climate and the cooler site. White blossom, grapefruit and lemon, a touch of green apple with some underlying savoury/spicy notes from MLF and lees work. Plenty of flavour with just enough texture around a core of vibrant acidity. Very much in line with previous Chardonnay from this site.
"100% chardonnay from Kinvarra vineyard in the Upper Derwent Valley. Mid-straw in the glass with aromas of white peach, apple and grapefruit along with hints of clotted cream, soft spice, wildflowers, crushed stone and ozone.
