These guys have been around for a few years now but do remain a 'fly under the radar' type. A shame as they regularly deliver very solid and well crafted wines and this is particularly evident for the cool 2023 Yarra Valley vintage, a year that has regularly failed to excite us.
"Robin Querre is the 4th generation of a family involved in winemaking since 1897, variously in Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, France. Robin commenced studies in medicine at the University of Bordeaux, but changed to oenology in 1990. He studied under some of the Bordeaux greats (such as Yves Glories, Denis Dubourdieu and Aline Lonvaud), and worked vintages at Château Canon and Moueix, as well as at Rudd Estate in the Napa Valley. He currently works for Laffort Oenology, a private research company based in Bordeaux, developing, producing and selling oenological products to winemakers. He and wife Prue also make small quantities of very good wine in the Yarra Valley." James Halliday
