During his first vintage in Margaret River in 1979, Mike Peterkin introduced two wine styles which have become the mainstay of winemaking in the district: the first Australian semillon sauvignon blanc blend and the first to introduce a touch of cabernet franc and malbec to wines.
"Although it’s had a few years to settle, this is still somewhat nervy, bristling with acidity yet remaining rather buoyant. There’s plenty of enjoyment within, the cassis and currants, mulberries and raspberries, dried flowers, spices and menthol. "Medium red tinged with purple, light for a young cabernet. The bouquet is elusive and shows faded rose-petal/pot-pourri, Turkish Delight aromas, the palate lean and medium-full bodied with again developed red fruits and flowers, the tannins helping power quite a long finish.
